I would like to think I could stop anytime I wanted to. That I could just “say no”. That just “one more” could actually be just one more.

The truth is the more I fish the more I need to fish. “If I just get that 30 incher, I will be okay with taking vacations, that don’t involve fishing.” At least this is what I tell my wife ;). The truth is I need help. I am addicted to the drug called “the tug”.

“The tug” is a drug that is defined as follows: according to Fishapedia… Which I just made up…

It’s a sudden burst of adrenaline through the body which releases a massive amount of endorphins. These endorphins give you a feeling of “who gives a sh*t about anything else mentality”. Anything that’s wrong or stressful in your life goes away in a matter of seconds.

This might sound great… but the truth is the more you do it, the more you need it.

This drug, if not treated right away, causes horrible side effects such as:

-impulse buying
-extreme jealousy of others that enjoy the “tug” drug
-leaving your family and friends behind for the search of a new “tug”
-In severe cases even death from sharks, hippos, crocs, and even starvation. Starvation you might ask? People often forget to eat or think they don’t have time to.

It’s time we acknowledge this disease and come out and say we have a problem.

Don’t feel ashamed as you are not alone. Together we can cure this epidemic and return to a normal lifestyle…..

Or not. ;)
